A bit later, the word "noisome" is used to mean offensively noisy, but it actually means 'having an extremely offensive smell" or by extension, "extremely unpleasant." Then the word "exoteric" pops up -- exotic is what I think the author meant, as it modifies "culture."Emma Linfield, while you can quote/paraphrase Shakespeare nicely, you need either a beta reader who knows a bit more than you do or a fact checker.
Lady Emmeline has disappeared everyone assumes she is dead in a carriage accident. But Noah dosen't believe that he is convinced something is wrong. They may have meet when they were children but do to a family grudge they were never able to have a friendship and now as adults Noah wants to court Emmaline but can two families forgive a terrible tragedy and where is Emmeline. Also there is blackmail in play and criminal's as well things may get worse before they get better for these two. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and I purchased one as well.
Lady Emmeline Grant and Noah Fitzroy, the handsome Duke of Newberry are suppose to to be bitter enemies because of a family feud. But how can Lady Emmeline hate the man she is drawn to? When the Duke of Newberry becomes involved in a murder scandal, he is concerned if Lady Emmeline's feelings for him will change. Why are so many people warning her not to become involved with the Duke of Newberry? Will the beautiful Lady Emmeline find true love in the arms of the handsome Duke of Newberry? What about the family feud?This is an enjoyable book. I really liked the characters and could feel their despair when people were trying to keep them separated. Ms. Linfield never disappoints. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, this is my true and honest opinion.
Emmeline and Noah are in love yet there has been a feud between their families.Why? What kept it going decade after decade? Why can’t it stop, who is determinedto keep it fresh in everyone’s mind?What happened to Emmeline? Is she dead? Poor Noah, he is devastated as is herbrother George. Will Noah and George join together to unravel the mystery behindEmmeline’s Death or will they continue the hatred between their families?This book is so very interesting, touching, sad, filled with excitement and love,mysterious happenings. I very very highly recommend this book! I was deeplyImpressed with this story. Don’t forget to get the Extended Epilogue too!It’s wonderful.
This one will keep you reading for sure!! What the women in this novel have to do to end the long standing family feud between the two families is unbelievable. As for the wicked old grandmother-------oh is she a trouble maker----And the two Dukes--STUBBORN to the core--Will Emma's disappearance and possible death bring them together--or make things worse--As always once you have read this there is a place where you can click in and read a short story about what happens after the story ends---I truly appreciate this and so should you.
First I apologize for delay in review. Afraid Christmas got in the way.The book was awesome and enjoyed the love, mystery, loss, intrigue and sadness. Wasn't sure all would turn out right, but sure enough, it did!!Keep.writing these exciting books and I'll keep.reading them!!Love them! B.J.
What a wonderful story of true love, old foolish feuds, meddling and unforgiving family, and suspenseful intrigue. I had to keep reading into the night to see who was truly behind the fate of the lovely, sweet Emmeline. Noah would not give up on his true love. If you like regency romance and intrigue, you NEED to read this one! (...and all her other books, as they are great too!) Emma Linfield does not disappoint! What are you waiting for?! Go read it!
This was a Tremendous story! A little slow in starting but once I last a few chapters I couldn't put it down! Noah had such an evil grandmother but his mother was amazing. Not sure yet how I feel about Em's supposed death but it was GREAT reading and extended epilogue was all it could be!
