In the not-so-distant future, Andy Moss, an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intern, discovers documents that implicate the U.S. government, now controlled by a fascist version of the EPA, in a massive political cover-up involving a nuclear testing project called THOR. Moss is killed by the authorities, but not before he turns the THOR documents over to his supervisor, Dale Crawford. As Crawford rushes against time to get the documents into the right hands, he encounters a country deeply divided by the restrictive policies of a corrupt political regime. Although the thinly drawn characters are mostly caricatures of particular political opinions, Burkett's (The Illuminati, Nelson, 1992) novel is filled with the fast-faced action, suspense, and intrigue of a Clancy thriller. This one lost me. I love dystopian novels. Conspiracy's etc. I felt the story was going somewhere special with Dale Crawford and Andy Moss. It started off very good. It kept my attention. But then around chapter 9 when more characters started being introduced, the story lost its appeal. And it lost me completely when Dr. Wells was introduced. Why? After chapter 9, there was hardly any conflict. The rest of the book is filled with lots of talking and exposition. That's great if you're into that but I'm not. You need conflict to make a great story. To keep the readers attention. No conflict, no story. If things are going well for the characters, the reader will be bored. Constant conflict. The very beginning of this book starts off with such great potential and the ending is not bad (and there are a couple of events in the middle) but the rest (85-90%) of the book is boring. I can't tell you how many times I had to skim the chapters to see if anything interesting would happen. Nice try though.
I am about half through this book by Larry Burkett and don't see how he can write about events that are or seemingly will be happening in America today! It scares me and then I think if we as Americans don't wake up and see what exactly is happening we might just be living some of the chapters in Burketts book! Get it! Read it! seefor yourself!!
Slow starting but eerily prophetic as one reads further into it.
As with all his books, Larry Burkett did a great job on the Thor Conspiracy. He said that he didn't "think he was prophetic", but as the book was written nearly 20 year's ago, he seems to have had good insight on the future!!

Written in 1995, Larry Burkett was ahead of his time. Well written.
