It is quite funny and has some "inappropriate" language, not normally heard at a Seder. We had a wide range of ages at our Seder and everyone thought it was a different approach to the Haggadah. I can see how a more Traditional person could take offense, however. It did cover the basic requirements of a Seder. Best of all, everyone participated! Meanwhile, in the spirit of this Haggadah, we expanded on some of the wording and ideas. Considering the degrees of observance, though, some people thought we could do even more but generally, it made for a warm and thoughtful Seder.

This is a funny,thought provoking Haggadah. It provides spiritual guidance for Pesach, and tells the story without being heavy on the Hashem, so to speak.I am not sure I would use it to have a Seder with, but soome of the ideas and suggestions could be incorporated into a Seder, albeit not a strictly traditional one.I collect Haggadahs and this is one I will add to my permanent collection.

I bought one to check it out, then bought 9 more so we could use it at our smaller, second night seder. Definitely for a particular audience and not for younger children (which should be obvious). Even those in our group who tend to get bored even when creative elements are added to our regular seder found this very entertaining, engaging and challenging as well.

This book is perfect for those who want to enjoy the wonderful traditions of Judaism, but just can't take themselves too seriously. Best passover ever.

I'm orthodox from birth aka FFB (frum from birth...and/or frum from brooklyn) while nobody's confusing this with artscoll or sacks...there IS a place for this and the dimension it adds to the seder especially the second half of the second night ...hey we're the people who invented irreverence (or was it wholesale?...or maybe guilt?)...anyway having just completed my 54th seder about a month ago, all i can say is, a lot of whats in here is reminiscent of the sidebar conversations at our seder...and if i end up in hell for this, i hope they don't seat me next to hugh hefner because it'll be really embarrassing to tell him why I'm there considering why he'll (probably) be there.

Our son went to a seder and this haggadah was passed around. He wanted a copy for himself and just began to look at it, but suffice to say it isn't your usual haggadah. It is definitely an unusual read.

Perhaps I should have read more carefully what this book was before I ordered it. I was looking for extra readings to add to my otherwise normal conservative seder service, perhaps something with which to tempt the college students at my table who typically come to seder with their arms crossed and wearing their ironical angst on their quizzical eye-brows. But, this book is not funny irreverent, just tastelessly irreverent. You would have to be far, far outside the mainstream of any branch of Judaism to find this book a useful addition to your seder, and then one might wonder, with such a perspective on Judaism, why you would bother with a seder, as this seems more useful in service of mocking the seder than in contributing to the seder. I was so offended that I actually shredded the thing rather than return it, at least there is one fewer of them in the world now.

Don't buy this book! It's awful. Sounds like a 13 year old or college boy wrote it trying to be cute. The language, quotes, suggested actions (including making pot macaroons) aren't something you'd want kids to see or hear. Many "facts" appear to be made up and this book adds absolutely no value to anyone. I buy a few Haggadahs every year looking for new interesting ideas and discussion points for our family sedar. Amazon has many wonderful offerings here. I strongly suggest the editors remove this one PERMANENTLY from your list.

What an amazing story! My father lived in Italy during WWII and I never spoke with him when he was alive about how it was in Italy during the war. Many cities experienced much destruction, including Naples, Milan, Florence and Monte Cassino. In 1980 I saw DaVinci's fresco The Last Supper and there were photos of the destruction of the church where the fresco was. Did not dawn on me that it was allied bombs which blew up the church but the bombing was of the train yards right near the church. Even in a brutal war men realized the importance of these masterpieces, men on both sides of the war. The story that is told is incredible and I am surprised it took this long to get this story out there. I see where a movie is being made on this subject and will be released in December. Interwoven in the story is the German surrender in Italy and how complicated it was, the Germans just could not surrender that easy. Also did not know all the bridges in Florence were blown up by the Germans (rebuilt after the war) except for the Ponte Vecchio (which Hitler loved that bridge). The bombing of the abbey in Monte Cassino, allied forces had no choice but to bomb it. All the men searching for these masterpieces, college professors, museum curators, what a story. Thank you Robert Edsel for writing this story.

I couldn’t put it down! Saving Italy is a page turner with a compelling narrative that often keeps you on the edge-of-your-seat with suspense. The drawings that Monuments Man Deane Keller sent home to his young son offer a revealing insight into the man’s mixed emotions about his eagerness to help save the treasures of a country he loved in the midst of war, coupled with the loneliness and isolation he felt being separated from the family he adored. The passion and impulsiveness of Monuments Man Fred Hartt help the thrilling adventure of Saving Italy come alive. Edsel does a great job bringing out the very human side of his complex characters, including a little known Nazi General, Karl Wolff. The book is well-researched with many author interviews noted, but is presented in a way that reads more like an espionage novel. I highly recommend Saving Italy not just to those who love art or WWII History, but to anyone looking for an inspiring story about the human spirit and the sacrifices people make to follow their passion, risking their lives for a cause greater than themselves. Five stars doesn't seem like enough!

This is an amazing story about a part of WWII history that I was not familiar with. The author did a great job researching and writing this compelling narrative about a "new kind of soldier" empowered to protect rather than destroy. I have read many books about the war but can't remember one that included so many rich details. The characters practically leap off the page. The story is fast-paced, reading more like fiction. As a reader I felt like I was almost part of the adventure. One of the most interesting plots in Saving Italy involves a secret Nazi surrender of Italy in which the art work is held hostage while an SS General negotiates with American spies. I was surprised and riveted by these details. Overall, this is an exciting read and I would highly recommend it. (And I can't wait to see the Clooney movie based on the author's last book, The Monuments Men.)Saving Italy: The Race to Rescue a Nation's Treasures from the Nazis

For anyone interested in European art history, the stories told both in this book and The Monument Men should be considered. Art history isn't just about how art developed over time, but also how it maintained over time. World War 2 presented an extreme threat to a very large quantity of the world's most precious art objects.Saving Italy and The Monument Men explain how a small select group of art professionals worked with the Allied military to both minimize damage to art treasures as well as recover those taken by the Axis powers. Both books explain the extrordinary success of this small MFAA group spanning from 1943 through 1946.It should be recognized that the story still is not over as there are still thousands of art pieces that are still missing or not returned to their original owners.If like World War 2 stories and have an interest in art, I highly recommend both books by the same author. This book walks you through steps to identify what may be interfering with your sleep. You make assumptions and test those assumptions. I found that if I limited my assumptions to three or four items to track and monitor for several week I could easily eliminate or identify items interfering with my sleep. Once you start to identify items that may be causing lost sleep or even helping you sleep, you can take measures to eliminate them or add them to your routine. It took me about three months before I started to sleep better. Mine were very simple. I found if I exercised I slept better. If I drank lots of fluids in the afternoon or evening, I woke up at nights several times having to use the bathroom. If I had caffeine in the afternoon I had trouble falling asleep and did not sleep well. If I dressed to warm I would wake up hot and have trouble getting back to sleep.

I bought this book and companion workbook. It is not until you start reading it that it tells you to get the best use out of the book to buy a sleep device. I called the phone number it listed and went to the website. Both resources are no longer accessible. What a scam!

Great help for learning to deal with sleep apnea! Highly recommend the workbook instead of the "basic" book-workbook more helpful, and I found I did NOT need the accompanying book since it covers the same material.

This bok is all about using a sleep device with this book. That device is not available anywhere and their website to purchase it is no longer active.

This is a well written book and will not put you to sleep. It has lots of facts about insomnia and why you might not be sleeping. If you are honest, it will point out the reasons that you do not sleep.

Thanks for writing this . Very helpful in bite size learning and thinking as I grow in my understanding of coaching. Loved the different articles that were referred to. All was Short and to the point.Would love to see how you get from empathy to objective and still know you have the heart of the client. I understand it's need but since this is my weakness would like to see more illustrations there. Plus the balcony one too. How do you do both without sounding preachy? I have been known for not feeling enough with people before moving on ir at least voicing it.But I figured I practiced the other concepts and change my thinking and focus on the person and not trying to fix it I think the others will follow. :).This paper gave me much to think on and try on as I became more aware of my thinking and changing it. I encourage others to read it as they grow to be a better coach or even thinking of becoming a coach. Thank you.

One of the big insights I got from this book is a great coach creates a safe space for the client to express his agenda, and I think that's crucial and that's what many specialists in help relationships (therapists, coaches,...) fail to provide. Without this vital element, the help relationship goes in every possible direction but not to the heart of the issue.To make others feel safe with you requires a difficult condition: to feel first safe with yourself!Another great insight is to trust your client has the necessary resources to resolve his issues; and again, this requires from you first to trust yourself to do it!

I am a very new entrepreneur and I am finding it a little difficult for me to assert myself, especially when I am asked by my peers for help. This short book was such a great read and the amount of information it contained was explained in a straight forward, direct manner. I am the type of person that needs to learn in a direct approach without all the extra details that I never end of up remembering anyways. I am very pleased that I purchased this today and I will be implementing his 8 steps along my journey to becoming a better person, co-worker and hopefully mentor.
