Pharmacology is one of those subjects I will always be studying throughout my career as a RN. This guide covers all the basics of pharma - drug classes, prototypes, warnings, indications, administration routes, common drug interactions, and patient education. This does not replace the drug reference handbooks or my pharmacology books I use in class and clinicals. But, it does provide an excellent review and handy guide for quick reference before a test or nursing skills workshops.

BarCharts is definitely not lacking in an abundance of Quick Study guides. This study guide is very thorough with it's six laminated pages of plentiful information. It explains many different types of poetry as well as many elements of poetry. It introduces you to several different poets who created poetry throughout the years, including C.S. Lewis, John Keats, Robert Browning, E.E. Lewis and of course my favorite, Edgar Allan Poe and may more. It helps you with learning how to write poetry and also how to properly read and analyze poems. I have worked in the field of ecological consulting for over 25 years. This book is indispensable for formulating surveys and monitoring as well as doing simple effective statistical tests. The formulas are well laid out and can easily be adapted to a spreadsheet. The techniques, and variations and adaptations, are well described. I would not be without this book. Don't be fooled by the date of publication. It isn't as if ecologists are replacing their field techniques.

I am beginner's ecology. This I have only had Statistics 101. This book is heavy duty statistic formula textbook and its dated but formula's don't change. I am hoping in the future I will be able to utitilize this better.

A waste of money.

Have not used it yet but my boss swears by it, it is used as reference on environmental studies papers.

While this book is a reasonably complete introduction to Dojo, it has several flaws.One: it's badly out of date, and needs to be expanded to cover the many changes made in Dojo since it was written.Two: it spends an awful lot of time cheerleading Dojo for being powerful, simple, revolutionary, etc. Effectively, it spends a lot of pages "telling" rather than "showing". This wouldn't be a problem if the "showing" part were better, but that brings us to the next point.Three: while the book does cover the vast majority of Dojo, the organization is fairly poor. Concepts are thrown at the reader in an unintuitive order, connections between concepts aren't drawn clearly, and the result is that the user's concept of the system as a holistic tool will likely not be especially strong at the end of the reading.Overall, it's probably still the best intro book available if you HAVE to buy something, but that's not saying a lot. The average user will probably get at least as much out of reading the documentation on the Dojo website.

This book does a good job of being a helpful reference manual with just a little extra.Anyone who has worked/struggled at all in depth with Dojo will tell you one of the most difficult things about it is the documentation. Often times in my projects I have found myself absolutely frustrated because the documentation is too sparse, or an example from 3-4 months ago will not work with the latest version I am using.That being said the book overall functions better as a reference manual when you need a little more explanation behind specific parts of the framework than a "sit down and read cover to cover" manual. It has definitely come in handy more than a few times when the online documentation and archived community input did not include enough detail to accomplish what I needed.

I tried really hard to get into Dojo without any reference guides, but really struggled. Then I bought this book. It's become my Dojo bible. I use it every day. It's not going to give you every example of how to do everything you want in every area of Dojo, but that makes sense. Dojo is huge. What it does, instead, is give a good detailed look at just about every area of Dojo - certainly enough to get you started and figure the rest out on your own. Plus it explains some theory behind why things are the way they are. For example, there is no full demo of creating a complex drag and drop script, but there is coverage of every fundamental drag and drop building block available. Combine that with some online examples and you can do exactly what you want.There's really nothing left to the imagination in terms of what Dojo can do once you've read this book. It has become an essential reference guide for me in writing a seperate open source telephony project. Highly recommended.

This book really helps to explain not only the "how to" of Dojo but also the "how come". It is a great reference for Dojo's core functionality, for Dojo's Dijit widgeting system and for the Dojo build system and test harness. It gives great practical advice on how to exploit the power of dojo.query, and provides great coverage of Dojo's data stores for data source abstraction. It has excellent coverage of dojo.fx for animations, it provides an invaluable desktop reference for Dijit. There is also a excellent coverage Dojo's Data Transport apis like XmlHttpRequest, dojo.io.script(Dynamic Script Tag injection for JSONP or JSON with a check string mechanism), as well as the use of iframes for data transport.If you are working with Dojo this book will make your life a whole lot easier.One thing you should know before buying this book. It does not have in depth coverage of anything in the Dojox package, so you will not find anything in this book on the Data Grid!Take a few days and give it a read, then keep it on your desk for reference. Just bought it for a new project (3/2015) which has legacy dojo. Another developer saw me with it and told me to throw it away because it is too outdated and dojo has too many changes. Bummer. $6 down the drain (I bought it used). If it were up to date, it would be great.

This book is more detailed and has more practical documentation and answers than "Mastering Dojo", which I found preachy and unnecessarily opinionated. Buy this book before that one. It helped me solve some tricky widget related problems.On the other hand, this book does contain a lot of typos and even at least one instance of text which was repeated (copy paste paste).
