This book is 5 stars and definitely recommended if you are buying Ramadan books for your collection. It is great for either a Muslim or non Muslim. Good for small kids, small sentences (no story), pretty pictures and gives you a good intro to the month and what it's all about.This is one of maybe only 2 board books I know of for Ramadan. So it is great for itty bitty ones and I can see it being a good baby's first Ramadan gift.This is a lovely, beautiful book, and I'm glad to have representation as a Muslim in published children's books. The only thing lacking is that in reading it I was just kinda sad that it doesn't mention God or the Qur'an. (It does talk about praying.) Ramadan is NOT a cultural celebration. There are cultural aspects and they are fun to indulge in and share. But Ramadan is the month that Allah sent down the Qur'an. It is the month of Qur'an. We fast to draw closer to God.I realize this is a book for smaller children, and maybe the publishers want to remove any religious aspects in order to attract a "secular" audience. But even if you were someone who was non-Muslim or atheist purchasing this book, wouldn't you want to know that the Qur'an is central to Ramadan? This is a beautiful book but it is yet another Ramadan book (I own pretty much all English language Ramadan books) which is meant to explain "exotic" practices to a secular/Western Christian audience. I'm ready for books which are meant for children who already know the general info about Ramadan and want something more.Ok that being said, yes this is a great book to share with your young kids at storytimes or to gift to kids in a Ramadan basket.

Absolutely wonderful story and stunning illustrations about Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. The pictures are so vibrant and rich with beautiful details. I bought this as a gift to share Islamic culture and traditions with my son’s Montessori class. Great addition to any classroom library or family bookshelf.
